The smallest of the UK butterflies. The sexes are similar in appearance. This butterfly was introduced to Seal Sands in Teesside using a colony in Cumbria as the donor site. They are often found in small discrete colonies alongside roadsides or railway embankments containing a good amount of Kidney Vetch its larval foodplant.
