The Dingy Skipper is a moth-like butterfly that can be easily missed especially when it basks on stones or bare ground. It is dark grey brown and has a neat row of white dots along the edge of each wing. Occurring where Common Bird's-foot trefoil grows and bare ground is showingsuch as limestone grassland, coal tips, railway yards and brownfield sites.
